How to Use the ABC Handwriting Worksheets
-Give students the worksheet for the letter that is being taught; e.g., the letter “a” worksheet.
-Tell the students the letter, sound and keyword (upper left corner); e.g., “a /a/ apple.
-The students repeat the letter, sound and keyword.
-Give the students the verbal instructions as they are writing the letter. (These instructions are written at the top of each page.)
-On the first row, the students start on the dot, follow the arrow and trace the letter on the dotted lines.
-On the second row, the students start on the dot and trace the letter on the dotted lines without the arrow.
-On the third row, the students start on the dot and write the letter without the arrow or the dotted lines.
-Next, the students may write the letters on the blank lines on the worksheet included in this package.
